Moisture Technology (M\TEC) was selected as the window and mold expert by the attorneys representing the window and glazing sub-contractor for this prestigious, multi-story Hospital facility in Harlingen, Texas. M\TEC was charged with the responsibility of observing and commenting on the activities of two engineering firms and two mold experts working for the plaintiff, as well as conducting our own forensic investigation.
As part of our investigative responsibilities, M\TEC conducted a number of ASTM E1105 and AAMA 501.2 water tests to verify the integrity of window units and how they were integrated into the surrounding Exterior Insulation Finish System (EIFS) cladding of the building. Further, we attended numerous meetings on behalf of the client and legal sessions with council..
Our work extended over three years and ultimately concluded with a rather well attended deposition that focused upon five expert reports and letters which had been published by M\TEC over time. The case settled out of court in our client’s favor.
