D. Benjamin Hales is a Professional Consultant and Principal of Moisture Technology Corporation. He is a Fellow of the Roof Consultants Institute and practices as a Registered Roof Consultant, as well as a Certified Interior Environmentalist and a Licensed Texas Mold Assessment Consultant. He is also a Certified Construction Specifier with the Construction Specifications Institute.
Mr. Hales holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Wiltshire University. He is a forty five year veteran of the construction industry, having worked in every imaginable area, from apprentice to journeyman, all the way up to Vice President, prior to beginning his own practice in 1979.
He is a Past-President of the Roof Consultants Institute and has served on the RCI Board of Directors. He served as Chairman of the RCI Manual of Practice Committee and the RCI/NRCA Liaison Committee, as well as the RCI Finance and Long-Range Planning Committee. Additionally, he is a current member of the Indoor Air Quality Association, as well as the American Society for Testing and Materials, having served on ASTM Committee D-08 on Roofing, Waterproofing and Bituminous Materials.
